Ingredients
1kg Lean minced beef
1 Medium red onion
1 Green Granny Smith apple
50g fresh breadcrumbs (2 bread slices toasted)
1 large handful Fresh Parsley
1/2 a whole nutmeg
1 tsp All spice
Zest of one large Orange
Salt to taste
100g Oats
1 or 2 tablespoons of coconut oil for frying

Directions
- Place your oats in the Thermomix on speed 10 for 20 seconds, to make oat flour. You can of course just buy and use flour of your choice. An alternative I like to use when they aren’t going to school is Almond Flour. Place 100g Almonds in your Thermomix at Speed 7 for 5-10 seconds. Set aside flour.
- Cut the skin off the orange to zest in a mixer, Thermomix or as you normally make your zest. Thermomix users – Speed 10, 10-20 seconds. Place in a bowl and set aside.
- Toast bread, then break up and add to Thermomix, 10 sec speed 6. Put the breadcrumbs into a bowl and set aside for later.
- Peel and chop your onion 👍 Tip cut the onion in half on its side, peel then finally cut of the ends to prevent tears👍
- Place onion, apple and fresh parsley leaves into the Thermomix bowl and chop, Speed 7, 3 seconds. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and tip on to beef. Those without a Thermomix simply finely chop the onion, parsley and apple.
- Grate the nutmeg into mixture, add all spice, breadcrumbs and orange zest and mix together with salt to taste.
- Then place your flour into a separate bowl. Form the meatballs in your hands and coat in the bowl with the flour.
- Heat about one tablespoon of coconut oil in a large frying pan and sauté the meatballs over a fairly high heat, turning occasionally until browned, then reduce the heat and continue to cook for about 5 minutes.
- If your adding a sauce pour that over the meatballs either way continue to cook covered for 10-15minutes with or without a sauce.
